Very service oriented!
Review rating 5 out of 5

They specialize to those bustling off to work for coffee and a bagel etc..or usually grabbing their lunch to go, but they do offer much more than that. I lived next door for three years before I realized they also had full meals (Turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy, vegetable, cranberry sauce...$6.50). Their specialty seems to be geared to those that want a lot of bang for the buck that have to eat back at work. Although, they have plenty of space to eat there. Mary and David are very personable and people are often shocked by all the choices they have even when ordering a sandwich. They are very accommodating and do a lot of large orders for the lunch-time with regular clients. Everything is fresh and made at the time ordered unless called-in in advance. Their clientele continues to grow and...stay. That's always a good sign in my book! Mr. Clark  More Reviews

Salad to return to again!
Review rating 4 out of 5

The salad with Jumbo Shrimp, Jicima and Apple dressed in a Ginger type dressing is absolutely both tasty and refreshing. They have a great Spanish white wine that begins with an A (not good with names) that goes quite well with this. This makes a nice light meal. If this is not enough, add some of their Garlic Fries which are slim, crispy on the outside and moist on the inside. Then you are good to go! This has always filled me up, so I know nothing of their deserts.  More Reviews

great place for birthday!
Review rating 5 out of 5

My boyfriend and I went to San Francisco from LA for weekend trip for his birthday. I found this place on the internet, the reviews seemed pretty good, and I was interested in going somewhere romantic and different. When you go to this restaurant, it is truly in an alley. Except for a lighted sign saying Bix, the alley seemed deserted. But when we pulled up, the valet came out immediately. We opened up the dark door and were immediately into a classy, cool place for dinner. We requested to sit up in the balcony in a booth, which I recommend. Soft jazz could be heard, but didn't overpower. The restaurant is small, but the way it is constructed you here a lot of conversation, but can still enjoy the conversation easily at your own table. I got the pork chop dinner, with kale spinach and new potatoes, and it was the best I've had. My boyfriend got the lobster spaghetti which had a great sauce. We also tried the steak tartare for appetizer that was prepared tableside, different and yummy. We topped the night by splitting the "little peanut butter sundae", very nice way to end the meal. We had great service, and they did some extra touches (incuding have card on table saying "happy birthday" and bringing out dessert with candle so my honey could make birthday wish. If you are looking for a great place for an evening meal, I highly recommend.  More Reviews
