Burgers thumbs up, Fries thumbs down
Burgers are very good indeed. Fries are tasty but like limp noodles. Strange. Even McD can make good french fries.

What dreams are made of
My new hubby and I have been to Veil twice now, once in 2007 and last night for his birthday and to celebrate the return from our honeymoon. Our first visit to Veil last year left a very lasting impression - we cannot recommend this restaurant enough. The Celery Root & Oxtail soup, along with their fabulous desserts, brought us back a second time, although the soup has been replaced with a Cauliflower and crispy pancetta soup, which is also delicious. (As a nod to another review, the Fois Gras with PB&J is indeed back on the menu.) Presentation is always beautiful, and the way each course is served and presented turns your already memorable meal into an event, but without the pretense of haughty or snobby service. They manage to mix high-class food and service with a comfortable, relaxed friendliness that's refreshing.
The appetizers are by far our favorite part of the menu; you could literally skip the entrees and spend all night sampling their delicious first and second courses. The lamb burgers are a treat, and the shrimp is even more delicious. But the highlight of our dinner this trip was the lobster macaroni - absolutely divine! We considered ordering another, but resisted and moved on to the entree, the Calamari pasta. Garlicky, spicy, and very yummy. We treated ourselves to a decadent THREE desserts, and our favorite was the peanut butter ice cream  simply heavenly. If you plan a trip to Veil, do plan to spend a pretty penny, our bill for one Theater dinner (prix-fixe), appetizers, drinks and desserts was $150+, but compared to other four- and five-star restaurants weÂve tried, no one compares to VeilÂs incredible flavor profiles and impeccable service, and despite the hefty price tag, weÂd go back in a heartbeat. After a year of my husband working as a consultant in Seattle, this is definitely our favorite restaurant to discover and we plan to come back again and again. A must-try for any food lover. It was good
Here's the deal - their food is much better than the 'norm', even in their category, and even in terms of "nicer" restaurants in so far that they use, in large part, locally sourced and often time organic produce, dairy and meat. Amazing. Really try this spot if your in the neighborhood, or even if you're not. This is a "genuine Seattle experience" v. a traditional downtown dining experience. More Reviews
